Unless Congress votes by October 1 to extend the current FHA Loan Limits, those intending to purchase a home with a low, 3% down FHA loan are in for a big surprise. The changes are explained in several tedious online sites with graphs and statistics, but the bottom line is if you live in San Bernardino County, the maximum loan FHA will insure drops from $500,000 to $355,350 — a whopping difference of $144,650. With less than 3 weeks remaining before the change, fence sitters may want to jump quickly.
